Investment philosophy

We have adopted an investment philosophy based on three essential characteristics. These characteristics are conditions that to some extent distinguish AP4 and which create opportunities to run a successful management.

The three distinctive features can be summarized as this:

  • We have the ability to act long-term
  • We have great degrees of freedom to design management in the best way within the framework of the AP Funds Act
  • We have a portfolio size that allows for cost-effective management without limiting investment opportunities

The peculiarities are complemented by investment beliefs that make it clear how we should act in order to succeed in management. The investment beliefs concern balanced risk-taking, inefficient markets, diversification, sustainability, competent organization and structured processes.
